Capturing the glamour of a luxury ocean liner, the talent of stars like Sutton Foster and Joel Grey and the classic elegance of a show by Cole Porter is a tall order, but Broadway.com resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson is the man for the job! Squigs stopped by the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where the revival of Anything Goes is well underway, starring Foster as brassy nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Grey as low-rent gangster Moonface Martin. Joined by a company of singing sailors, stowaways and star-crossed lovers (including, from left, Jessica Stone, Jessica Walter, John McMartin, Adam Godley, Laura Osnes & Colin Donnell), these two join forces to help true romance blossom on the high seas. The tap-filled revival officially opens April 7, so book your tickets for a happy Broadway voyage at Anything Goes.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Photo by Matthew Murphy
